The following pages describe several Bushmaster MKI modifications
that have been tried and tested over the years, and proven to have
increased the performance of the Bushmaster.
Some modifications mentioned on the internet, but not described on
these pages, were found to be far too complicated to implement, or
could damage the PCB if the work was not carried out to near
perfection, or were improved upon by the modifications described on
these pages.
Venom 3 mod
Serum Upgrade
Venom 3 modification
The Venom-3 modification is designed to improve the audio quality of the signal
output from the DAC chip.

Replace each with a 100 Ohms resistorResistor used:.
1/4Watt Metal Film
MLC20 & MLC21
Replace each with a 22nF capacitor.Capacitor used:
WIMA 22nF/63Volt leg spacing = 2.5mm Type = MKP
The following page describes the
Bushmaster Serum Mod. This mod consists
of two parts. They are both suitable for use
on their own. But when combined, they take
the Bushmaster MKI to an even higher level.
The two parts are:
DAC chip performance upgrade
Serum Firmware Upgrade
TC4
Replace with a 100uF/4V size B Tantalum SMD capacitor
TC7
Replace with a 100uF/4V size B Tantalum SMD capacitor

The + side of TC4 should face downwards.TC7

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Make sure that you solder the SMD caps facing the right way.
The following mod is the Serum
Firmware mod. The specially
amended firmware makes better
use of the Cerum caps mod in
order to deliver a deeper and
enriched sound .
BMI Serum Firmware
Remove the firmware that you currently have fitted and replace it with the BMI-S Firmware.
Position of Firmware
Make sure to fit the new Firmware with the writing on the label facing the same way as in the picture.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Serum Firmware changes the operation method of the BMI to that of the BMII as part of the upgrade. So use the BMII operating instructions after upgrading the Firmware The BMI-GFU Firmware is the same as the BMI-Serum Firmware.
